Out & About – Week 1 - Fertilizer Friday

Spring is such a welcome time of year for me.    I love being outdoors.  The first true sign is seeing the crocuses pop through the soil.  But there are others……
RobinRight around the time the crocuses appear, these guys show up.

This year, after the snow melted away, a long forgotten issue resurfaced.Acorns 2Acorns!   Last year was a banner year for acorns.  They.are.everywhere!

Next to appear in my yard……
Daffs Daffodils
HyacinthsHyacinths
Foxglove

Beyond my own yard, I also like to grab my camera,  hop in the car and get out & about!   I just  need to see what’s going on in the ‘hood!
Flowering Tree Yellow
Forsythia

Flowering Tree 2
This one I do not know.  It’s pretty though!

Weeping Willow
Over by the pond….Weeping Willow?

Budding
Trees are budding!

Geese
Geese are swimming!

Ducks
Ducks are nesting!

Horses
A horse enjoying a day in the sun!

Today was a glorious day here in New England.  About 76 degrees!
The kind of day that makes me count my blessings.
Ain’t Spring grand?  These are just a few of the reasons that I like to be out & about!

Now pop on over to visit Tootsie's Fertilizer Friday post.  She has a visitor!

Wonderful pictures, Maureen! Spring is such an exciting time. There is new life bursting up out of the ground at lightning speed!
Holy cow, that is ALOT of acorns! I'm sure they're a nuisance, but I bet they keep the squirrels happy!
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter!

Me again! Maureen, you dear girl, you should have tooted your own horn and let us all know it was your birthday yesterday! Happy, Happy Birthday! I hope you had a great day, with beautiful weather, so that you could play in the dirt! Although it's too early to plant here, I bought a bunch of hostas from Menards, because they were 2/$5, and you just can't beat that! I'm looking forward to visiting you alot here, because gardening is a real passion with me!
Have a great day!

That's the prettiest hood I've ever seen. It is so nice to see what's blooming on the other side of the country.

Hi Maureen,
Thanks for your nice comment on my FF post. I'm with you on loving spring. We have had a cold winter, and spring. We have only made it above 70 a handful of times. We're supposed to see it in the next few days, though. Yippee!

I enjoyed your spring photos. Those bulbs and such are probably twice as tall as they were when you took the photos, and are close to blooming. It's so much fun to see the changes each day!

Maureen I soooo agree with you spring is grand, I just love it. When you blokes are getting into your best gardening for spring and summer, I will be getting cold and breathing in that fresh cool air that I missed in summer. Ti's all good. The earth's promise of renewal each season. Beautiful.
But...for the moment we have similar conditions.
