As I anxiously wait for my garden to come to life, I realize that it’s about more than the flowers. Beyond the sights and scents, it’s the sounds too.
Soon bees will be buzzing…….
On lupins
On rhododendrons
On squash flowers
Birds will be nesting…..
Mr. Cardinal doesn’t leave but I’m not outside to enjoy his company.
Hummingbirds are such amusing little creatures.
They appear out of nowhere - swooping and swooning – so fun to watch.
The migration map shows that they are making appearances in Florida now. Still almost 2 months away for this neck of the woods.

You are so right about the sounds of a garden, I guess I even mention it in my post this week about the water sounds. I love to see the Hummingbirds come through our area but it usually mid summer before we see them. Have a great week - Debbie.
Great pictures! One of the things I love about spring is watching the earth return to life.
One year when we lived in So. Maryland we went to Boston for Easter. It was like driving in rewind as we watched spring disappear. Then on our return trip it was like somebody hit the fast forward button on spring. :-)
What pretty photos!!! Promises of things to come:)

We have entire bee colonies collapsing in southern British Columbia.
It is a very serious situation and they are not sure why it is happening.
I held a hummingbird in my hand once. It flew inside my house and was sitting on the window ledge. I cupped it in my hand and couldn't even feel it. Weightless and still. I took it back outside and when I opened my hand up it popped up and flew away. It was an amazing thing.
Great post Maureen. Yes gardening is much more than flowers for me too. It is about creation, about feeding back to the earth and receiving in return its bounty to sustain us, in food and soul.
I can't wait for the hummingbirds come back here!!!
My garden is a place where I express myself...and relax, blow off a little steam or just be me. I love the smells and sounds...oh heck I love pretty much anything that it brings!
have a great weekend...

I would also like to thank you for being one of the only ones that actually posts my FF logo and links back to my blog!!! I appreciate it!
Thanks for the visit at weedy acres. Will be checking back on you.
Beautiful pictures! I'm so eager for spring. Even the half frozen rain today seemed promising.
