September 8th was the last time I had visitors at the Hummingbird feeder.
I figured it might be the last time. Boohoo - until next year.
The Morning Glories were in full swing just a few days ago…..
The daturas are still blooming but…..
…..starting to put out seed pods for next year.
One of the prettiest weeds is showing up everywhere….
Pokeweed! I love those deep purple berries.
On a recent jaunt, my new roomy, a former city dwelling dog, is being introduced to the suburban life.
A few days ago on a trip to a pond a few minutes from here, Elsa met some new “beasts”. And much barking ensued.
“What is that!?!?!” she barked.
The beasts were very curious too.
There were every bit as interested in her as she was in them.
They followed us along the fence. And at one point even showed off by kicking up their heels and prancing around.
I would have loved to get a little closer but didn’t want to spook the horses. Maybe next time.
So what’s going on in your neck of the woods? A good place to see what 's going on elsewhere is to visit Tootsie’s Fertilizer Friday.

Lovely pictures! I have yet to capture on of a hummingbird. Our Morning Glories are just getting started down here in Florida. I almost feel like we live in the Land Down Under!
Linking through Fertilizer Friday, and I'm your newest follower. :)
Love your photos, especially the he hummingbird.
How great to be able to take a walk and have an adventure
*hugs*deb
Luv the photos of the horses. And also the floral photos. Thanks for sharing....Julian
Oh, your morning glories are so pretty! I have never had alot of luck with them. And the pokeweed, how beautiful for a 'weed'.
I bet your city dog is having fun adjusting to the country, what a change! Thanks for such great photos!
Your weather sounds like ours! Though my plants have been quite happy to have a reprieve from the heat. The lowest we have gone at night is 36 degrees, so I know it won't be long before a freeze kills everything. :(
My horses love playing chase and tag with any visiting dogs.
The doggie story is funny. It reminds me of my old dog Freddie. The first time he saw a horse he turned tail and ran in the opposite direction, He was probably thinking that is the biggest bloody dog I have ever seen! Hahaha.
That humming bird is so perfect and delicate it almost looks unreal.
Well, if we were 70 degrees here we'd be so happy. Our highs have been 46 F (8 Celsius) the last few days. Yesterday was a balmy 11 Celsius, which translates to 51.8. Fall is in full swing here in Edmonton, Alberta.
Nice shots of the hummingbird and the horses! How is your city companion adjusting to the country? I'm sure she is loving it!
PS Thanks for dropping by http://shirley-agardenerslife.blogspot.com/. Come again soon.
I love the hummingbird photo! Elsa looks like she enjoyed her adventure with the beasts, they were beautiful too.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I really appreciate it!
Fall has set in here too and I personally love it. The horsies are so cute. :-)
I wish I could grow a patch of morning glories like that... so cool and yet bright.
Fun post! Thanks for the name of the pokeweed...we have a ton of it and I had no idea it had a name! I have to go back and read some of your older posts...did you just move! Enjoying my visit at your blog this evening :)
Wendy
Elsa's reaction to the horses is cute! A city dog has a lot to get used to!
Maureen, thanks for coming by to see my wash boiler. Glad you did, looks like I can learn a ton from your blog:0)
Cute blog. Love your horse photos and the morning glories are so pretty. I am sad to see them fade. Thanks for sharing!
