September 8th was the last time I had visitors at the Hummingbird feeder.
I figured it might be the last time. Boohoo - until next year.
The Morning Glories were in full swing just a few days ago…..
….and now they are fading.The daturas are still blooming but…..
…..starting to put out seed pods for next year.
One of the prettiest weeds is showing up everywhere….
Pokeweed! I love those deep purple berries.
On a recent jaunt, my new roomy, a former city dwelling dog, is being introduced to the suburban life.
A few days ago on a trip to a pond a few minutes from here, Elsa met some new “beasts”. And much barking ensued.
“What is that!?!?!” she barked.
The beasts were very curious too.
There were every bit as interested in her as she was in them.
They followed us along the fence. And at one point even showed off by kicking up their heels and prancing around.
I would have loved to get a little closer but didn’t want to spook the horses. Maybe next time.

Lovely pictures! I have yet to capture on of a hummingbird. Our Morning Glories are just getting started down here in Florida. I almost feel like we live in the Land Down Under!

Your weather sounds like ours! Though my plants have been quite happy to have a reprieve from the heat. The lowest we have gone at night is 36 degrees, so I know it won't be long before a freeze kills everything. :(
My horses love playing chase and tag with any visiting dogs.
The doggie story is funny. It reminds me of my old dog Freddie. The first time he saw a horse he turned tail and ran in the opposite direction, He was probably thinking that is the biggest bloody dog I have ever seen! Hahaha.
That humming bird is so perfect and delicate it almost looks unreal.
Well, if we were 70 degrees here we'd be so happy. Our highs have been 46 F (8 Celsius) the last few days. Yesterday was a balmy 11 Celsius, which translates to 51.8. Fall is in full swing here in Edmonton, Alberta.
